Temple Basin Ski Area will close for the 2026 ski season after Sunday, 20 September
This weekend marks the Canterbury ski field’s last official days of operation.
Fresh snow is still available higher on the mountain, with the Downhill Tow expected to be running as conditions allow. Temple Basin is encouraging skiers and snowboarders to make the most of the final weekend and enjoy one last visit before the season wraps up.
While 20 September is scheduled to be the official closing date, Temple Basin Ski Area has left the door open for a possible late-season return.
If another decent snowfall arrives, Temple Basin says it may reopen for a special pop-up weekend.
