Gnomes – The Ski Experts has officially opened its new Christchurch store, located at: The Works, 400 Waterloo Road, Islington.
Relocating from Darfield to a larger site at The Works in Islington, the new store brings Gnomes closer to the city and its skiers and snowboarders. The upgraded space allows for expanded retail, improved workshop facilities, and more capacity for its well-known boot fitting and ski tuning services.
Founded in 1983, Gnomes has built a strong reputation across the South Island, particularly among those heading to Mt Hutt and the Canterbury club fields. For many, it’s been a regular stop on the way to the mountains.
The new Christchurch location makes that experience more accessible, especially during the busy winter season.
With 2026 approaching, Gnomes is now positioned as a central hub for skiers preparing to get up the hill – whether it’s new gear, servicing, or getting properly fitted before the first snow.
