Cardrona opening day 2026 was planned for this weekend, 20 June. However weather conditions are delaying the start of the season
The resort says the mountain team has had a solid week of snowmaking, but the forecast has changed ahead of the weekend. A weather system is expected to bring high winds, warmer temperatures and rain, making conditions unsuitable for opening.
Cardrona says it is now assessing the situation day by day and will confirm a new opening date once conditions allow.
The delay comes after a difficult early-season period for several New Zealand ski areas, with limited natural snow and changeable weather affecting opening plans.
Cardrona says guests will be updated as soon as a new Cardrona opening day 2026 is confirmed.
We’ll keep you posted…
