20 August Update – Heavy Snow Forecast for Cardrona This Weekend
A decent fall of snow is on the way for Cardrona this weekend, with the heaviest snow currently forecast to arrive overnight on Saturday.
Friday is expected to bring some cloud before snow showers develop overnight, while Saturday could become increasingly unsettled as westerly winds strengthen. Heavy snow is then forecast overnight before conditions begin to clear on Sunday.
Temperatures are also set to drop sharply, with Sunday expected to be much colder and clearer after the snow moves through. If the forecast holds, Sunday could be worth watching closely. Make sure you check Cardrona’s latest snow report and chain requirements before heading up.
Snow coverage is still building, but conditions are good on the open trails. Learner terrain is available, with Kindy Conveyor and Learner Conveyors operating, while McDougall’s Chondola and Whitestar Express are also open.
