Green Steam Wānaka returns for 2026, combining biking, ski touring and skiing in a low-emissions day on the mountain
Green Steam Wānaka returns for 2026, bringing together biking, ski touring and skiing for a human-powered day at Treble Cone. The route takes participants from Wānaka to Treble Cone by bike, before skinning to the summit, skiing back down and riding back into town.
You don’t have to complete the whole route either. Riders can take part in the bike, skin or ski sections, or simply join the Protect Our Winters community at Treble Cone for low-carbon activities and information throughout the day.
Kai Whakapai and Treble Cone are supporting the event, with live music from Royal Funk planned during the day and again as participants return to Wānaka.
Meet at Doughbin at 6:30am, with departure at 7:00am.
