Coronet Peak, Queenstown
The MTB on Snow Championships are coming to Coronet Peak on Saturday 26 September 2026
The event brings mountain bikes onto the snow for a one-day, three-stage race event. Riders will compete across three different formats on the mountain, with the event combining speed, bike handling and some very different riding conditions from the usual summer trails.
The Event
The MTB on Snow Championships are made up of three stages:
- Super G down the M1
- Mass Start race to the bottom
- Dual Slalom around Eighth Basin
Course locations may change depending on snow and mountain conditions on the day.

Prizegiving: Approximately 12:00–1:00pm
Entry: $60
Places available: 60 riders
Entry includes bike uplifts for all three events, with a full-face helmet required along with long pants, long sleeves and gloves. It should make for a pretty different day at Coronet Peak, swapping skis and snowboards for mountain bikes and racing across the snow.
