Event Date: 29 May 2026

The Coronet Peak 29 May opening is confirmed for the 2026 winter season, marking one of the earliest planned openings in New Zealand. The focus for opening day will be on the lower mountain, with guaranteed snow coverage on the learner slopes and Snow Play zone.

That means beginners, first-time riders, and anyone keen to get on the snow early will have a chance to start the season ahead of the main winter build-up, with Early Access Passes now available. The full mountain is scheduled to open from 13 June, with 3 Peak Pass holders able to access the slopes from day one.

It’s an early start by New Zealand standards – and a welcome one.
